What it means to be human

Humans are basically sacks of meat. (we think)We are the most advanced species on the planet... With our communication skills, and fancy cars, and money... opposable thumbs.. we have mastered nature. We are the ONLY materialistic creature. One could argue we are the ONLY creature that is unable to survive without the infrastructure we have built. Medical advances are making the species genetically weaker, because it's no longer "survival of the fittest" but "survival of those with adequate health care."

I mean yes, humanity has made some great achievements in setting itself apart from plants and animals.. and yet it has also proved itself the most needlessly destructive force on the planet.

Sometimes i think, "what to animals DO all day?" they hunt for food. the sleep. they fuck. in the case of deer they watch cars drive by. I also wonder how they view us, whether they see the structures we build as associated with us. I would rather be some kind of animal. I would rather detatch myself from money, from housing, medical, social, political crises. (but oh, how I'd miss art and music)

As an artist, I am continually torn between pursuing graphic design (a field with little feeling) and traditional art (a field with little money). I like the feeling of moving the medium around, watching the image grow and develop. Graphic design offers little room for self expression.

I wish someone would bomb someone. I dont care who. Because of mutually assured destruction, all hell is guaranteed to break loose.

you sell our race short, the people you described are middle class fucks in america and europe. what about everyone everywhere. we are powerdul, beutiful, and as allways, unpredictable. we are more and less then yo can imagine. the ONLY thing you have described are the walking undead, the wage slaves. our race in this region will grow weaker as e get more and more comfortable with never leaving our starting town. its our material possessions that are dooming us, but not mine, just yours. think more about the people around you, and less about the pres, he wont help the peopl, but you shure can. we dont need a representitive of our salvation. we need everyone to smash there tv's, go to the town hall, get involved, kick out the chain stores, burn down the mall. depend on people, not a corporation.

what i described is middle, upper, and lower class fucks in usa, europe, and much of asia. pretty much all of africa and some parts of south armerica could be excluded because they have not forgotten their place in nature. take an anthropology class (or borrow bender's or my book).

smash your tv. smash your computer. smash your phone. burn your money.

i dont have many material possessions i would actually hang onto. its mostly trash. money is a necessary evil i use to eat, clothe myself, and buy intoxicating substances.

the problem is greed. people want more. THAT is why we have corporations, crime, kings, AIG retreats for its top earners a week after they got their bailout money *cough*
I saw a quote recently, i forget where.. "the dollar does not reign supreme in america, it is merely easy to come by."

PS immigration rates have dropped.

but yeah, why dont YOU go out and convince people they dont need that prada bag or lamborghini.
